Here is what we are doing at the Upper School at LHPS

On December 11th,  Lake Highland Preparatory School celebrated Computer Science Education Day. Brenda Shabel from Microsoft talked about the features of Windows 7. The first 100 students who attend got a free Windows 7 DVD compliments of Microsoft Corporation.

Each day this week during announcments, students were able to see a video of computer science students talk about their Web Design or Programming project that they worked on during this semester. It was a fun week!

Plan your celebration activities for the week of December 7th.

Here are some ideas to get you and your students started….

· Fastest to debug a program

· Guest speakers from the Computer Science Field

· Essay contest about the life of Grace Hopper

·Recognize an accomplished school alumnus working in CS with a press release and certificate

· Invite past students in to "tell it like it is" about CS careers or college

· Collaborate with the lunch room to rename the items of each day's menu to some clever computer related term. For example: just for fun infinite loop spaghetti or Grace Hopper Pie

· Want more ideas or information?
